Gourmet Roasted Coffee

Buying gourmet roasted coffee would not be so hard if only two choices were available. But what happens when you have hundreds to choose from?  That would be a little more daunting but you could still manage

In a specialty gourmet roasted coffee shop you can find many of types of gourmet roasted coffee, some of which you've never heard of. Whenever your shopping for gourmet roasted coffee you will see a lot of French, Italian, Viennese, and Continental labels on the package.  Usually, these European names are made from darker coffees and don't necessarily mean that the beans themselves came from these regions.  Instead of  location these coffee names are dependent on the actual length of time the beans were roasted. For example, Italian gourmet roasted coffee is darker in color because it has been roasted longer than French coffee, and so on.

European names generally refer to the length of being roasted, but non-European names generally refer to the origin or location of the coffee bean. So if you see a coffee named Brazilian roast, then the beans came from  Brazil.

There are other names on coffee labels. One of the more common names is Plantation grown coffee. Plantation labeled coffees are distinctive in a way that the coffee has been grown, harvested and processed in a single farm or estate. Plantation coffee growers pride themselves of having the purest coffee.

Custom Flavored Coffee

Now that we have talked about names referring to gourmet roasted coffee and place of origin, let’s take a look at the various custom flavored coffee. Generally, custom flavored coffee is less expensive but are really good nonetheless. Custom flavored coffee comes in a variety of flavors crème, chocolate, vanilla,  any nut or fruit flavor blended with coffee.

Unlike gourmet roasted coffee which is normally roasted black custom flavored coffee is roasted medium brown. Then after the roast flavor is added into the coffee in liquid form.

Gourmet Coffee Blends

Gourmet coffee blends, on the other hand, are a mix of two or more gourmet coffees. The main consideration and certainly the key feature of gourmet coffee blends is that the coffees that are mixed together should complement one another.

The aroma, taste, and flavor should never be distinct but at the same time harmonious. Just like estate coffees, there are several well known gourmet coffee blends that come from trusted coffee combinations.
